Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) entitled “Household Waste Reduction Strategy to Overcome Waste Accumulation in the Community Environment” was conducted on May 17, 2026 in Buaran Village, Serpong District, South Tangerang City.This program aims to enhance community awareness and capacity in reducing and managing household waste effectively and sustainably through a collaborative approach between students and the community. The program focuses on household waste education, waste sorting between organic and inorganic materials, and the application of simple technology through organic waste processing using Black Soldier Fly (BSF). The activities were implemented through participatory methods, including group discussions, case studies, and practical simulations. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding regarding the importance of waste management at the source. Participants also began practicing waste segregation and recognizing the potential value of organic waste utilization. Although consistent implementation remains a challenge, the program has positively contributed to increasing knowledge, awareness, and community motivation.
