Abstract

The issue of waste accumulation requires an integrated solution that not only improves the environment but also generates economic value for the community. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to disseminate information on organic and inorganic waste management and to provide solutions for the operational and marketing challenges faced by waste bank operators in Buaran Urban Village. The implementation method involved outreach sessions, interactive discussions, and mapping the business potential of waste bioconversion. The results indicate an urgent need to shift the maggot sales strategy from selling fresh/wet maggots to high-value derivative products, such as prepupae and premium dried maggots. Economic analysis reveals that the initial investment for Black Soldier Fly (BSF) cultivation is highly affordable (IDR 200,000), with the potential for profit margins to soar by over 500% through the sale of prepupae and products from a zero-waste ecosystem (BSF frass and eggs). Sustained collaboration among academia, the farming community, and the packaging industry is key to successfully absorbing the community's recycled output.
