Abstract

This Community Service Program (CSP) aimed to empower independent women through financial literacy education in Kubang Bahad Hamlet, Kubang Puji Village, Pontang District, Serang Regency. The program was conducted on July 28, 2026, at Madrasah Alkhairiyah using participatory methods, including lectures, interactive discussions, simulations, hands-on practice, and mentoring. The activity was designed to improve participants' knowledge and skills in household financial management, budgeting, financial recordkeeping, saving habits, and the utilization of formal financial services. The participants consisted primarily of housewives, along with micro-business owners and community cadres. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of financial literacy concepts and their ability to prepare household budgets and maintain simple financial records. Participants also demonstrated greater awareness of prioritizing essential expenditures, reducing consumptive spending, and developing sustainable saving behaviors. Furthermore, the activity strengthened participants' motivation to apply sound financial management practices in their daily lives, contributing to greater household economic resilience. The participatory learning approach encouraged active engagement and knowledge sharing among participants, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process. Overall, this community service program successfully enhanced financial literacy and supported women's economic empowerment, contributing to stronger family welfare and sustainable community development in Kubang Bahad Hamlet.
